    B. Tech Marine Engineering

    A specialised engineering programme accredited by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), equipping graduates to operate, maintain, and manage the complex machinery and systems aboard commercial vessels and offshore structures in India's expanding maritime sector.

    Program Highlights

    Eligibility Criteria

    Academic Qualification: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST). English: Minimum 50% marks in 10th or 12th. Age Limit (as on 1st August of the admission year): Male: General – 25 years, OBC – 28 years, SC/ST – 30 years; Female: General – 27 years, OBC – 30 years, SC/ST – 32 years. Medical Fitness: Must meet DG Shipping medical standards, including normal color vision and 6/6 eyesight. Entrance Exam: Admission through IMU CET. Selection Process: Based on IMU CET qualification or National/State JEE, as applicable.

    B.Sc. Nautical Science

    3 YearsApproved by DGS

    A three-year science programme recognised by DGS, training future deck officers in navigation, maritime law, cargo operations, and ship management. Graduates are eligible to pursue Officer of the Watch certification and sail on internationally registered merchant vessels.

    • Ship navigation simulators, bridge resource management training

    • Pre-sea training vessel time as part of programme

    Eligibility Criteria

    Academic Qualification: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST). English: Minimum 50% marks in 10th or 12th. Age Limit: 17.5 to 25 years. Medical Fitness: Must be medically fit as per DG Shipping norms, with 6/6 eyesight and no color blindness. Selection Process: Based on IMU-CET or National/State Joint Entrance Examination, followed by an interview, sponsorship screening, and medical examination.

    Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)

    A specialized one-year pre-sea training program leading to a career in the Merchant Navy as a deck officer. The curriculum combines classroom education with practical training in navigation, cargo handling, and seamanship.

English: Minimum 50% marks in 10th or 12th from a recognized board. Age Limit: Maximum 25 years. Selection Process: Admission through IMU CET Entrance Test and Company Sponsorship.
